The Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway (M9) has been entrusted to Frontier Works Organisation for the next 25 years on Built-Operate-Transfer basis. A signing ceremony in this regard was held on 10 Mar 2015 at Headquarter FWO that was attended by the Chairman NHA Shahid Ashraf Tarar, Engineer in Chief Lt Gen Khalid Asghar, and Director General FWO Major General Muhammad Afzal. According to the contract agreement the existing 4 Lane Karachi-Hyderabad Superhighway will be converted in 6 Lane Motorway meeting International Standards and Maintain and Operate the Motorway, in line with International Practices over next twenty five years.
