Lahore and Faisalabad Construction company, LAFCO (PVT) LTD, is a consortium lead by FWO as a joint venture with M/S Khalid Rauf & Co. (Pvt) Ltd, M/S Habib Rafiq (Pvt) and M/S Sachal Engineering Works (Pvt).
It was registered with Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan in Jul 2000 as a result of decision taken by Government ofPunjab, Communication and Works Department, for effective utilization of public funds and other resources in development, operation and maintenance of public infrastructure through internationally recognized BOT (Build, Operate and Transfer) regime.
Road Lahore – Sheikhupura – Faisalabad Project
Lahore-Sheikhupura-Faisalabad road project is the first of its kind conceived on BOT basis by LAFCO, FWO. It is a Dual Carriageway, which starts from Begumkot (6 Km from Shahdrah, Lahore) and ends at Faisalabad. The total length of project is 115.5 Km.
Previously the road was in poor condition warranted improvement. Its inadequate width and dilapidated condition was creating inconvenience to communities due to severe traffic congestion, frequent road accidents and increase in travel time; thereby loss to national economy
