FWO is organised into a Head office at Rawalpindi and five Group Headquarters at Abbottabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Karachi and Quetta covering the entire country. The headquarter at Rawalpindi having Planning, Operations, Logistics and Finance Directorates provide overall management of the projects and the Group Headquarters control the construction activities in the feld either directly or through the Sector Headquarters which are put under their command where ever considered necessary.
FWO possesses over 100 qualifed and experienced engineers (Including 2 Phd’s and 30 MSc’s) and managers of Grade-I and II covering all disciplines of civil, electrical, mechanical, communication mining and geo-tech engineering. In addition, about 4300 middle and lower level technicians and operators, specialised in their own fields, are available to be moved to any project where required.
A work force of over 55,000 personnel, divided into construction units and construction teams carry out the construction activities. Depending upon the nature of the projects the units and construction teams are given to the group in whose area the projects fall. In addition to the integral machinery with the units and construction teams the specialized machinery is moved from the pool of the head offce at Rawalpindi. As and when required local sub-contractors, local labour and hired machinery and transport is also employed.
The quality of work is assured through the qualifed staff at each Group Headquarter and over all monitoring is done by head offce through Operations Directorate. Accordingly each Group Headquarter has been organized into various specialized construction teams, survey, quality control and safety sections along with requisite equipment / maintenance workshop.
