DG FWO Maj Gen Muhammad Afzal visited the CPEC Western Corridor (DI Khan to Hakla) on M-1 on 2 Dec 2016. It is a 285 kms long corridor linking DI Khan with M-1 motorway and further to be linked up with KKH. This corridor has been divided into 5 Packages. FWO is undertaking Package 3 of this Western Corridor which is starting from Tarap and terminating at Kot Belian (24 kms short of Mianwali). Cost of the project is Rs. 20.628 Billion involving 4 lanes (2 on each side) motorway with 94 structures (9 bridges, 8 flyovers, 15 underpasses, 2 interchanges & 60 culverts) in total. Project officially commenced on 28 Oct 2016 and time period for its completion is 720 days. The project is funded by GOP (NSDP), client is NHA, consult is NHA / ZEERAK JV and contractor is FWO. FWO mobilized completely on the site on 10th of Nov and taking on the project since then.
