Marka-e-Haq Square (erstwhile Kachery Chowk), one of the Rawalpindi’s busiest intersections, has been transformed through a landmark infrastructure initiative aimed at improving traffic flow and enhancing commuters’ comfort.

In recognition of the iron will and unwavering resolve of the Pakistani nation during the May 2025 standoff, the junction has been renamed as “Marka-e-Haq Square”. The development now serves as a key component of the signal-free-corridor connecting Rawat and Motorway (M2) through Peshawar Road.

Launched in November 2025, the project comprised the construction of two flyovers, three underpasses and a pedestrian bridge at Marka-e-Haq Square, Iftikhar Janjua Road and Jinnah Park.

With the dedicated and relentless day-and-night efforts of FWO, the project has been successfully completed in a record 179 days and inaugurated on 10 May by CM Punjab, marking a significant milestone in transforming Rawalpindi’s urban traffic landscape. Designed as per the latest Engineering Trends, the development has substantially enhanced traffic flow and pedestrian movement at one of the city’s busiest junction, while setting a new benchmark for efficient and smooth urban connectivity.
