The Lakpass Tunnel, situated along National Highway N-25 on the southeastern slopes of the Chiltan Hills, approximately 27 kilometres south of Quetta, is a strategically vital transport corridor. It enhances connectivity between Quetta and Karachi and provides key onward links to Iran via N-40 and to Afghanistan via N-25, promoting regional integration and facilitating trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan. By significantly reducing the steep gradient of the pass, the tunnel improves travel safety, efficiency and comfort. The project features a 180-meter tunnel, a 4.5-kilometre approach road and a 7.3-meter-wide carriageway, highlighting both its engineering excellence and strategic importance
