Dualization of RailwayTrack from Lodhran to Khanewal via Multan was awarded to FWO in May 2003. Previously most of the trains used to bypass Multan, and people of Multan were deprived of availing the facility of important trains. The heavy load of the trains have been distributed and the speed of the trains have increased due to new railway track. The total length of the track is 119 KM.
